Historic Islamorada Guided Tours aboard our Electric Bikes
Islamorada is a vibrant destination with a rich history. We can't think of a better way to get to know this island paradise than by pedaling effortlessly down the road on an electric bicycle. The Heritage Monument Trail is nestled along the Old Highway in the heart of Islamorada, home to gorgeous tropical foliage and island-style white picket fences. It consists of markers and descriptive plaques highlighting locations of historical importance. We'll visit the monument to the victims of the devastating 1935 Labor Day Hurricane. The ashes of 300 hurricane victims are interred in the monument's crypt. We'll visit some of the Red Cross hurricane houses, 16 were built after the 1935 hurricane. The guided tour includes a stop at the Florida Keys Discovery Center. Inside this museum, learn about the founding families of Islamorada, and the fate of the many sailors who never made it past our coral reefs. We will visit the site of Islamorada's first railway station, first post office, and first inn. But this tour is not just about Islamorada's past it is also about its present. This is an arts district, with world-famous galleries, boutiques, and breweries. (also, in our humble opinion, the best taco truck in Florida!)
Tours take place Tuesday-Friday from 10 am to 1 pm and can accommodate up to 4 riders.
